Zoom CEO Says AI Could Shorten the Workweek

Oct 27, 2025, 10:23 p.m. ET

Zoom Video Communications Inc. founder and CEO Eric Yuan said Monday that AI assistants could help reduce the traditional workweek, highlighting the company’s efforts to integrate artificial intelligence into its videoconferencing platform.

Speaking at the TechCrunch Disrupt 2025 conference, Yuan discussed Zoom’s “digital twin” feature, which allows an AI avatar to speak on a user’s behalf.

Yuan said he first used the AI avatar during an earnings call with investors earlier this year, showcasing its potential to push “the boundaries of communication.” He suggested that AI-powered automation could streamline meetings and routine tasks, freeing employees to focus on higher-value work.
