Quark, the smart search engine operated by Alibaba Group Holding, unveiled a new Dialogue Assistant feature on Friday, positioning itself to compete with Doubao, one of China’s leading AI chatbots.

Powered by Qwen3-Max, the latest iteration of Alibaba’s Qwen large language model series, the Dialogue Assistant can conduct multi-turn conversations and provide responses tailored to users’ personalized information, according to Yicai, citing Alibaba in Hangzhou.

To ensure the accuracy and reliability of generated content, Quark’s algorithm team has formed a joint R&D groupwith the Qwen development team, focusing on search reasoning and trusted AI generation, the company said.
