European Aerospace Giants Strike Deal to Consolidate Satellite Manufacturing

European aerospace leaders Airbus, Thales, and Leonardo unveiled a preliminary agreement on Thursday to pool their loss-making satellite manufacturing operations, following months of negotiations aimed at countering the rapid expansion of rivals led by Elon Musk’s Starlink.

The deal, highly anticipated in the industry, is intended to create a new joint venture beginning in 2027, pending approval from European regulators, who have historically been cautious about such consolidations.
