Microsoft Corp. Chief Executive Satya Nadella received his largest compensation package since taking the helm a decade ago, reflecting the tech giant’s AI-driven growth surge.

Nadella’s total pay for fiscal 2025 reached a record $96.5 million, up roughly 22% from $79 million in 2024, according to the company’s proxy filing on Tuesday. The lion’s share—$84.2 million—came from stock awards linked to Microsoft’s market performance amid the AI boom. He also collected a $9.5 million cash bonus and a $2.5 million base salary, alongside roughly $196,000 in other benefits.

Microsoft’s board noted that more than 95% of Nadella’s compensation opportunity is performance-based, tied to shareholder returns and growth benchmarks.

The tech giant reported a 15% increase in revenue to $281.7 billion and a 16% rise in net income to $101.8 billion for the fiscal year, underscoring the payoff from AI investments in products such as Azure cloud services and Microsoft Copilot.

The board committee said the results highlight Nadella’s leadership in positioning Microsoft as “a clear artificial intelligence leader for this generational technology shift.”
