Myanmar’s military has seized 30 sets of Starlink satellite internet receivers and related equipment during a recent crackdown on cybercrime operations near the Thai border, according to a report by state-run newspaper The Global New Light of Myanmar.

The operation, part of an ongoing campaign launched in early September, targeted illicit online scam compounds in Myanmar’s border regions. In its latest raid, the military focused on the KK Park compound in Kayin State, where over 100 buildings were searched and 2,198 individuals involved in suspected online fraud and illegal gambling activities were identified.

Authorities reported the confiscation of 30 sets of Starlink equipment, manufactured by U.S.-based aerospace company SpaceX. The devices are believed to have enabled high-speed internet access in remote areas, facilitating cross-border cyber scams often targeting victims in neighboring countries.
