A subsidiary of SiCarrier, a Chinese semiconductor equipment manufacturer closely associated with Huawei, has unveiled two domestically developed electronic design automation (EDA) software products—marking another step in China’s drive to cut reliance on foreign chip design tools.

Yunqifang, a unit of the Shenzhen-based SiCarrier, released the two EDA software products with fully independent intellectual property rights, according to state-backed outlet The Paper.

The launch underscores China’s accelerating efforts to build a self-sufficient semiconductor ecosystem, especially in critical upstream areas like chip design and manufacturing software, where U.S. export controls have long limited access to advanced foreign technologies.
