AsianFin -- U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday unveiled fresh tariffs targeting the timber and furniture industries, imposing a 10% duty on softwood timber and lumber and a 25% tariff on “certain upholstered wooden products,” effective October 14, the White House said.
The move follows Trump’s September 26 announcement on Truth Social of tariffs on kitchen cabinets, vanities, and other upholstered products, set to take effect October 1. A complete list of affected goods has not yet been published.
