AsianFin -- China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) announced on Thursday that it will launch anti-dumping investigations into carya illinoensis (pecans) imported from Mexico and the United States, effective September 25, 2025, according to a notice on MOFCOM’s official website.
Preliminary findings suggest that imports from these countries are being sold in China below normal market value, resulting in a sharp rise in import volumes and a decline in domestic prices. This, MOFCOM said, has suppressed domestic carya illinoensis prices and caused significant harm to China’s local industry, with a clear causal link between the alleged dumping and the damage observed.
Under China’s anti-dumping regulations, the ministry noted that it may initiate an investigation even without a formal application, provided there is sufficient evidence of dumping, resulting injury, and a causal relationship between the two.
