Over 130 China-Europe Freight Trains Stuck in Belarus After Poland Border Closure

AsianFin -- More than 130 freight trains traveling on the China-Europe Railway Express are stranded in Belarus after Poland shut its border with the country earlier this month amid rising military tensions.

The trains are mostly stuck in Brest, a southwestern Belarusian city near the Polish border, according to a report released yesterday by New Silk Road Intermodal Sichuan, a logistics provider specializing in China-Europe freight routes.

It will likely take about a week to clear the backlog at the Brest land port, including both the stranded trains and those still en route from China, the company estimated.
