AsianFin -- OpenAI is broadening access to its affordable ChatGPT subscription, bringing the sub-$5 ChatGPT Go plan to users in Indonesia. The rollout comes just a month after the plan debuted in India.

Priced at Rp75,000 ($4.50) per month, ChatGPT Go sits between OpenAI’s free tier and its $20-per-month ChatGPT Plus subscription. The plan offers users significantly higher usage limits—up to 10 times those of the free version—for sending prompts, generating images, and uploading files.

In addition to increased usage, the ChatGPT Go plan enhances the AI’s memory capabilities, allowing it to better recall previous conversations and deliver more personalized responses over time. Nick Turley, head of ChatGPT, highlighted the feature on X, emphasizing the improved continuity and context users can expect.

The expansion reflects OpenAI’s effort to make advanced AI tools more accessible in emerging markets, targeting users who need more capabilities than the free plan offers but may not want to pay for the premium ChatGPT Plus subscription.

With Indonesia’s growing tech-savvy population, OpenAI sees strong potential for adoption of ChatGPT Go as a practical, budget-friendly solution for both individual users and small businesses seeking AI-powered assistance.
