AsianFin -- While Meta Connect 2025 was dominated by new smart glasses announcements, the company also revealed fresh updates to its metaverse ambitions during Wednesday’s keynote. Chief among them was Hyperscape, a tool first showcased at last year’s event that enables developers and creators to build photorealistic environments in virtual reality.

Meta said Hyperscape Capture is now rolling out in Early Access, allowing Quest headset owners to scan a real-world room in just minutes and convert it into a highly immersive, photorealistic virtual replica.

Although scanning is quick, rendering a room into VR form takes several hours, the company noted. At launch, users won’t yet be able to invite others into their recreated digital spaces. That feature will be supported in the future, Meta said, via private links.
