AI Won’t Master Precise Execution for “Another Hundred Years”, Says Ping An Securities CIO

AsianFin — Despite the rapid progress of artificial intelligence, businesses should temper expectations about AI’s ability to execute tasks with precision, Ping An Securities CIO Zhang Zhaohui warned at the 2025 ITValue Summit in Sanya.

Speaking at the conference, Zhang said that AI is inherently better at intelligence and idea generation than at precise operational execution. “If you want AI to perform precise execution, you’ll have to wait another ‘hundred years,’” he noted, underscoring the current limitations of AI tools in real-world business processes.

Zhang emphasized the importance of understanding AI’s capabilities and limitations. “If you don’t know when an AI tool might make a mistake, you’re putting yourself and your business at risk,” he said. He stressed that humans remain essential as operators and coordinators, acting as the command center for AI-driven systems.
