AsianFin -- Airbus China said its top priority in the coming years will be to double production capacity of its A320 family aircraft in Tianjin, strengthening its ability to serve both Chinese airlines and international customers. The company reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the Chinese market in comments to the Global Times on Thursday.
The Tianjin Final Assembly Line has become a cornerstone of Airbus’ global manufacturing network since its launch in 2008. Nearly 800 A320 aircraft have been assembled and delivered worldwide from the facility, according to a Thursday report by China Central Television.
Airbus attributed the success of its Tianjin operations to the efficient logistics of Tianjin Port, favorable policies under the city’s free trade zone, and strong cooperation across a comprehensive local industrial chain.
