Japan Post Bank Plans Digital Yen Launch by 2026

AsianFin -- Japan Post Bank announced plans to roll out a digital yen by the end of fiscal 2026, aiming to provide depositors with a more convenient way to conduct digital financial transactions.

The postal banking giant, which manages roughly ¥190 trillion (around $1.29 trillion) in deposits, is joining a growing trend of domestic institutions leveraging blockchain technology to modernize and streamline financial services.
