AsianFin -- White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said Sunday that President Donald Trump’s tariffs are not permanent, seeking to counter a federal appeals court decision that struck down most of the administration’s levies on global trading partners.

On Friday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit upheld an earlier ruling that found the tariffs unlawful, saying their justification under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act did not meet the threshold of a national emergency.
