AsianFin -- Chinese soybean importers are ramping up purchases from Argentina and Uruguay to offset the supply gap caused by the continued absence of U.S. shipments, sources say, as tensions from the U.S.-China trade dispute persist.
According to two trade insiders—a Singapore-based trader with an international firm selling soybeans to China and a China-focused soybean trader—Chinese processors could purchase as much as 10 million metric tons from the two South American suppliers during the 2025/26 marketing year ending next August, potentially setting a new record.
