AsianFin -- Chinese electric vehicle maker Leapmotor is set to resume production in Europe, with plans to build its B-series models at Stellantis’ Zaragoza plant in Spain starting in the third quarter of 2025, Chinese media outlet International Financial News reported.
The first model to roll off the line will be the B10, a compact SUV launched in April and designed specifically for overseas markets.
The move marks a deepening of Leapmotor’s partnership with Stellantis, which invested EUR 1.5 billion (USD 1.7 billion) last year for a 20% stake in the Hangzhou-based startup. The two companies also formed a joint venture to accelerate global expansion.
Leapmotor previously trialed production of its T03 hatchback at a Stellantis plant in Poland, but the effort was abandoned, Reuters reported earlier this year.
Facing intense competition in China, Leapmotor has made international expansion a key priority. The automaker has already entered more than 30 markets across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific, and operates over 600 overseas sales outlets.
