AsianFin 00 OpenAI said it will roll out updates to ChatGPT following a lawsuit that claims the chatbot played a role in a teenager’s suicide earlier this year.

In a blog post Tuesday, the company said the changes will help the system better recognize signs of mental distress and respond appropriately — for example, by warning about the dangers of sleep deprivation or encouraging rest when users report feeling invincible after staying awake for days.

OpenAI also pledged to bolster protections in conversations about suicide, noting that safeguards may weaken during extended interactions.
