AsianFin -- China on Friday unveiled interim measures governing rare earth mining, smelting, and separation, tightening oversight of an industry where it is the world’s dominant supplier.

The rules follow a public consultation launched in February on regulations aimed at safeguarding China’s rare earth resources, which are critical to electric vehicles, wind turbines, and defense applications.
