AsianFin -- China’s foreign trade remains resilient despite mounting external pressures, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said Thursday, citing the country’s latest robust trade data for July.
Responding to questions over whether rising tariffs and other headwinds could derail momentum, Mao emphasized that China’s steady performance underscores both the strength of its domestic economic fundamentals and enduring global demand for Chinese goods.
“This resilience is the result of China’s push to deepen high-level opening-up, drive high-quality development, and accelerate industrial upgrading,” Mao said at a regular press briefing. “The facts show that trade built on comparative advantage and mutual development benefits all sides.”
Mao added that Chinese products are widely recognized for their quality and competitiveness, while China’s diverse and stable market structure provides strong foundations for long-term growth.
“No tariff war or trade war can change the popularity of Chinese products globally, nor the stability of China’s market,” Mao said.
