Xiaomi Q2 Revenue Jumps 30.5% on Strong Smartphone Sales

AsianFin -- Xiaomi reported a 30.5% year-on-year rise in second-quarter revenue on Tuesday, driven by surging smartphone demand, particularly in Southeast Asia.

Revenue for the three months ended June 30 reached 116 billion yuan ($16.2 billion), topping analyst expectations of 114.7 billion yuan, according to LSEG data. Adjusted net profit surged 75.4% to 10.8 billion yuan, beating forecasts of 10.1 billion yuan.

The world’s third-largest smartphone maker said it became the top brand in Southeast Asia and ranked second in Europe by shipments in the quarter.

Xiaomi’s electric vehicle unit also posted revenue of 20.6 billion yuan, up from 18.1 billion in the first quarter, with 81,302 EVs delivered versus 75,869 in the prior three months.
