AsianFin -- OpenAI has rolled out a new, lower-cost ChatGPT subscription plan in India, named ChatGPT GO, priced at ₹399 per month (around $4.60). This makes it significantly more affordable than the existing ChatGPT Plus plan, which costs ₹1,999 per month (approximately $23).

The launch follows OpenAI’s recent introduction of local currency pricing for all its plans. With ChatGPT GO, users in India can now also pay via UPI (Unified Payments Interface), the country’s widely used digital payment system.

Nick Turley, OpenAI’s Vice President and head of ChatGPT, said the new plan will boost usage limits for messaging, image generation, and file uploads by tenfold compared to the free tier. He added that ChatGPT GO will also support enhanced memory retention, allowing the AI to deliver more personalized responses over time.

This move positions OpenAI to expand its reach in the Indian market, offering a more accessible entry point for users seeking advanced AI capabilities without the higher cost of the standard Plus plan.
