AsianFin -- Thailand will soon allow foreign visitors to convert their digital assets into baht for travel expenses and local spending, the government announced Monday.

Finance Minister Pichai Chunhavajira said the move is aimed at boosting the country’s tourism industry by promoting innovation and offering more convenient payment options for international travelers.

The initiative, called the TouristDigipay program, will launch in the fourth quarter under an 18-month regulatory sandbox trial, he added.
