U.S., China Push Tariff Truce Deadline to November 10

Aug 11, 2025, 10:22 p.m. ET

AsianFin -- The United States and China have agreed to extend their trade truce until November 10, narrowly avoiding a planned hike in tariffs.

In a joint statement, the world’s two largest economies said the tariff increases announced earlier this year will remain suspended for another 90 days.

Talks in recent weeks were described as “constructive” by both sides. China’s chief negotiator pledged to work toward maintaining the pause, while U.S. officials noted they were awaiting final approval from President Donald Trump.
