Asian Stocks Rise Ahead of Trump’s Deadline for Increased China Tariffs

AsianFin -- Asian equities climbed on Monday as investors positioned themselves ahead of the U.S. President Donald Trump’s looming deadline to implement higher tariffs on Chinese imports.

Markets in Japan and Thailand remained closed for public holidays.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index nudged up 0.2% to 24,908.37, while the Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.5%, closing at 3,653.50.
