AsianFin -- Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. (CATL), the world’s largest electric-vehicle battery maker, has halted operations at a major lithium mine in Jiangxi province for at least three months, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

The company informed staff internally that production at its Jianxiawo mine would be temporarily suspended, the people said. One source added that the pause followed CATL’s failure to renew a key mining permit, which expired on Aug. 9.
