AsianFin — Baidu could release the latest reasoning model from its Ernie large language model family as soon as late August, according to people familiar with the matter.

The model is currently undergoing intensive testing and is expected to surpass OpenAI’s full-scale o3 model in areas such as logical reasoning and complex computation.

The company also plans to roll out the latest base version of Ernie in the coming months, with insiders saying the launch is highly likely to take place at the Baidu World Conference.
