AsianFin -- Sony raised its full-year profit outlook on Thursday after reporting a 23% jump in quarterly earnings, saying the negative impact from U.S. tariffs imposed under President Donald Trump was smaller than initially feared.

The Tokyo-based entertainment and electronics giant posted a profit of 259 billion yen ($1.8 billion) for the April–June period, up from 210 billion yen a year earlier. Revenue rose 2% to 2.6 trillion yen ($17.7 billion), driven by stronger demand in gaming, network services, imaging solutions, and sensors.
