AsianFin -- Alibaba’s latest text-to-image generation model, Qwen-Image, has soared to the top of Hugging Face’s global open-source AI model leaderboard, becoming the most popular open-source model worldwide, according to data from August 5.

Qwen-Image is a 20-billion-parameter MMDiT model and marks the first foundational image generation model in Alibaba’s Tongyi Qianwen (Qwen) series.

The model has achieved state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance across multiple industry benchmarks, including GenEval and DPG for general image generation, as well as GEdit and ImgEdit for image editing tasks.
