AsianFin -- AutoNavi, known as Gaode Maps, announced on Sunday the launch of its fully AI-powered map application, introducing what it calls the world’s first AI-native mapping platform, “Gaode Maps 2025.”

The upgraded app, now available to users, integrates advanced spatiotemporal understanding and autonomous reasoning capabilities, aiming to embed spatial intelligence into everyday mobility scenarios. Users can experience the new AI-native features by updating to the latest version of the AutoNavi app and searching for “Spatial Intelligence.”

“With spatial intelligence, we’re equipping maps not just to connect with the physical world, but to truly understand it,” said Guo Ning, CEO of AutoNavi. “AI is evolving from a dialogue tool into an action-oriented companion.”

Guo explained that spatial intelligence refers to the ability to perceive, reason, and act within a three-dimensional space over time. The technology’s deployment marks a significant shift in the evolution of map applications, enhancing decision-making and real-time interaction in complex environments.
