Tim Cook Surpasses Steve Jobs as Apple’s Longest-Serving CEO

AsianFin -- As of August 1, 2025, Tim Cook has officially become Apple Inc.’s longest-serving Chief Executive Officer, surpassing company co-founder Steve Jobs in tenure. Cook’s time as CEO has now reached 5,091 days, edging past Jobs’ 5,090 days at the helm.

Cook took over as Apple’s CEO on August 24, 2011, following Jobs’ resignation due to health reasons. Over the past 14 years, Cook has overseen Apple’s transformation from a consumer electronics giant into a diversified tech powerhouse with ventures spanning semiconductors, services, mixed-reality devices, and electric vehicles.
