AsianFin -- OpenAI announced on July 31 that it will launch the “Stargate” Norway project, marking its first AI data center initiative in Europe.

The Norway-based facility will be developed in partnership with local firms Nscale and Aker. Nscale will lead the design and construction of the site, which is expected to be jointly owned by a 50/50 joint venture between Nscale and Aker. The project underscores OpenAI’s global expansion of its infrastructure footprint amid rising demand for AI computing capacity.
