Zuckerberg Says AI Glasses Will Be Key to Staying Competitive in the Future

AsianFin -- Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg doubled down on his vision for AI-integrated eyewear during the company’s second-quarter earnings call, warning that people without such devices may eventually fall behind.

Building on his earlier blog post about the future of “superintelligence,” Zuckerberg argued that AI glasses will become the primary interface for interacting with artificial intelligence. “Glasses are basically going to be the ideal form factor for AI,” he said. “You can let an AI see what you see, hear what you hear, [and] talk to you throughout the day.”

Zuckerberg added that incorporating displays into these glasses—ranging from compact screens in everyday eyewear to wide, holographic fields of view in advanced AR devices like Meta’s upcoming Orion—will further amplify their utility.

“In the future, if you don’t have glasses that have AI—or some way to interface with AI—you’ll probably be at a pretty significant cognitive disadvantage,” he said.
