Logitech Says China Production Shift on Track as Tariffs Bite

AsianFin -- Logitech International is making strong headway in its efforts to move production out of China to blunt the impact of U.S. tariffs on its computer accessories, Chief Executive Officer Hanneke Faber said Wednesday.

The Swiss-American hardware maker first outlined plans in April to reduce exposure to import duties of 20% to 30% on mice and keyboards made in China. At the time, Logitech said 40% of its U.S.-bound products were manufactured in the country.

“We said in April we were at 40% of products bound for the U.S. coming from China, and by the end of the year we’ll be at 10%,” Faber told Reuters after the company reported fiscal first-quarter 2026 earnings. “We’re already slightly below 30% now — we’re well on track.”

The production shift is part of a broader effort among consumer electronics companies to diversify manufacturing away from China amid escalating U.S.-China trade tensions and rising tariffs under former President Donald Trump’s trade policy.
