AsianFin -- China is developing a nationwide system to redistribute surplus computing power, aiming to rein in the unchecked expansion of data centres that has led to overcapacity and raised concerns about the sector’s sustainability.

The move comes as the country’s top economic planner launches a comprehensive review of the industry following a three-year construction boom driven by local government initiatives, Reuters reported citing two sources familiar with the matter and an official document.
