AsianFin -- Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD plans to launch its first locally assembled car in Pakistan by July or August 2026, aiming to tap into rising demand for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles in the region, a company executive said Wednesday.

The world’s largest EV maker is accelerating its global expansion amid a fierce price war in China. The new facility in Pakistan will help BYD serve emerging markets while benefiting from government incentives designed to boost local EV production.
