AsianFin -- Authorities in northwest China’s Gansu province have launched an investigation into ten officials following revelations that the provincial disease control agency and a local hospital falsified lead poisoning test results amid a major kindergarten contamination case.
The probe comes nearly two weeks after police in Tianshui city detained eight individuals connected to the incident, which left over 200 kindergarten children with elevated blood lead levels and sparked national outrage.
A report released by the provincial government on Sunday detailed how the Gansu Provincial Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Tianshui Second People’s Hospital manipulated testing procedures and tampered with results for children at Heshi Peixin Kindergarten.
