AsianFin -- Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) plans to ramp up its monthly 2-nanometer (2nm) chip production capacity to 100,000 wafers in 2025, up 1.5 times from the projected 40,000 wafers by the end of this year, according to supply chain sources cited by the Economic Daily News.
The aggressive expansion comes as demand from first-wave customers—including Apple, AMD, and Intel—continues to surge. Qualcomm, MediaTek, and Nvidia are also expected to adopt 2nm technology in succession, leading to a tight supply situation for TSMC’s most advanced node.
