AsianFin -- Smartphone shipments in China declined 4.0% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2025, according to a report released Tuesday by the International Data Corporation (IDC), reflecting continued softness in consumer demand despite signs of recovery in certain segments.

Huawei led the market with an 18.1% share, edging out rivals and reclaiming the top position in the world’s largest smartphone market. Vivo followed closely with a 17.3% share, while OPPO and Xiaomi captured 15.5% and 15.1% of the market, respectively.

Apple’s share stood at 13.9% in the second quarter, facing pressure from intensifying competition and shifting consumer preferences toward domestic brands.

The data underscores the growing momentum of Chinese smartphone makers, particularly Huawei, whose comeback has been bolstered by new product launches and expanding offline distribution.
