AsianFin -- Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced plans to invest hundreds of billions of dollars into artificial intelligence, signaling the company’s bold commitment to leading the AI frontier.

According to analysis by SemiAnalysis, Meta is poised to become the first lab to deploy a supercluster exceeding 1 gigawatt (GW) of computing power. Zuckerberg revealed that Meta Superintelligence Labs will boast industry-leading computational capabilities, providing more computing power per researcher than any lab to date.

Meta is currently building several GW-scale AI clusters, starting with the “Prometheus” cluster scheduled to go live in 2026. Additionally, the company is developing “Hyperion,” which is expected to scale up to 5 GW in the coming years.
