AsianFin -- Elon Musk said Monday he does not support merging Tesla Inc. with xAI, his artificial intelligence venture behind the Grok chatbot, which rivals OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

Responding to a post on social media platform X that asked Tesla investors whether they would back a merger between the electric carmaker and xAI, Musk replied simply: “No.”

The billionaire entrepreneur leads both companies, but has previously emphasized that their missions are distinct. xAI, which he launched in 2023, focuses on developing advanced AI systems and has recently integrated Grok into X, the social media platform Musk acquired in 2022.
