Singapore Trade Minister to Push for Pharma Tariff Relief During U.S. Visit

AsianFin -- Singapore’s Trade Minister Gan Kim Yong will travel to the United States later this month to seek tariff concessions for the country’s pharmaceutical exports, he said on Thursday, as part of efforts to cushion the economic fallout from escalating trade tensions.

Although Singapore has not been directly targeted in the latest round of tariff notices from the Trump administration, its pharmaceutical shipments remain subject to a 10% baseline tariff imposed in April — despite a free trade agreement in place since 2004.
