AsianFin -- China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on Wednesday unveiled an online platform for suppliers to file complaints over delayed payments by automakers, part of a broader effort to improve settlement practices across the auto sector.
The move follows pledges last month by major carmakers—including BYD, Chery, SAIC, and Xiaomi—to pay suppliers within 60 days, amid mounting pressure from an intensifying price war that has strained industry margins and supply chains.
The ministry said it would coordinate with relevant authorities to help resolve disputes and would push forward regulations to ensure timely payments, aiming to “promote the healthy and sustainable development of the automobile industry.”
