AsianFin -- Luckin Coffee, the Chinese coffee chain that outpaced Starbucks in its home market, has officially launched its U.S. expansion with the opening of two locations in New York City on Monday.
The new stores — situated in the vibrant neighborhoods of Greenwich Village, near NYU, and NoMad — signal a bold move into the American market, where competition among coffee brands is intensifying. Luckin will go head-to-head with Starbucks and fast-rising rivals like Dutch Bros., both of which have cultivated strong followings among Gen Z with visually striking, social media–friendly beverages at accessible prices.
To mark the U.S. debut, Luckin is offering discounts and giveaways promoted through its website and social media platforms.
