AsianFin — Shanghai Ruijin Hospital has officially open-sourced the core visual foundation model of its RuiPath pathology AI system, along with a matching test dataset covering seven of the most common cancer types: lung, colorectal, thyroid, gastric, breast, prostate, and pancreatic cancers.
The initiative marks the first open-source pathology model from a Shanghai-based medical institution. RuiPath is built on Huawei’s DCS AI solution and is designed to cover 90% of the annual cancer incidence across all types in China. The hospital also launched the RuiPath Global Multicenter Pathology Model Program to drive international collaboration.
