AsianFin -- China’s factory activity showed a modest improvement in June following President Donald Trump’s decision to delay a planned tariff hike on Chinese imports for 90 days. However, overall manufacturing remains in contraction, according to official data released Monday.
The official Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) rose slightly to 49.7 in June from 49.5 in May, the National Bureau of Statistics reported. A reading below 50 indicates contraction, while figures above that mark signal expansion.
