AsianFin -- Chinese companies have secured their first soymeal purchase from Argentina since Beijing approved imports in 2019, as the country seeks to diversify feed supply sources amid ongoing U.S.-China trade tensions, Reuters reported.
Several Chinese feed producers jointly signed a deal to import 30,000 metric tons of Argentine soymeal for delivery in July, four trade sources told Reuters on Thursday.
The move reflects Beijing’s efforts to reduce reliance on U.S. agricultural goods and safeguard its supply chain for the animal feed industry.
