China Lays Groundwork to Lead Next Wave of AI and Robotics, Says Unitree CEO

AsianFin -- China’s humanoid robotics start-up Unitree has surpassed 1 billion yuan (US$139.4 million) in annual revenue, its founder Wang Xingxing announced Thursday, underscoring the country’s accelerating momentum in artificial intelligence.

Speaking at the Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Tianjin, Wang credited China’s robust digital infrastructure, mature manufacturing supply chain, and expansive domestic market for creating favorable conditions for growth.

“The rising attention on our industry, along with increasing demand and support, has created the essential conditions for leading companies to grow rapidly,” Wang said during a panel discussion.

Entrepreneurs and scholars at the forum echoed his view, suggesting that China is well-positioned to take a leading role in the next phase of AI development, particularly in the field of embodied intelligence and humanoid robotics.
