Huawei Cloud Unveils CloudRobo Platform for Embodied AI, Says It Won’t Build Robot Hardware

Jun 22, 2025, 11:25 p.m. ET

AsianFin — Huawei Cloud launched its new CloudRobo embodied intelligence platform at the Huawei Developer Conference 2025 (HDC 2025), underscoring a strategic shift toward AI-driven robotics software while leaving hardware to its partners.

Zhang Ping’an, Executive Director of Huawei and CEO of Huawei Cloud, emphasized that Huawei Cloud will not produce robot bodies itself. “We leave the hardware to our partners,” he said. “Our goal is to enable any connected physical entity to become an embodied intelligent agent.”

Powered by the multimodal and reasoning capabilities of Huawei’s Pangu large model, CloudRobo integrates end-to-end services including data synthesis, annotation, model development, simulation testing, edge-cloud deployment, and security governance. The platform features three core AI models—embodied multimodal generation, planning, and execution—aimed at accelerating innovation in embodied intelligence.
