AsianFin — Airbus booked $21 billion in aircraft orders at this year’s Paris Air Show, according to media reports citing delivery price estimates from UK-based aviation consultancy Cirium Ascend.
The European planemaker secured 148 firm orders worth $14.2 billion and 102 provisional orders valued at $6.7 billion.
Boeing, in contrast, chose not to disclose new sales data at the show, following last week’s fatal crash involving an Air India 787 Dreamliner.
The U.S. aerospace giant has scaled back its presence at the event and is focusing on investigations into the incident.
Industry observers had already anticipated a more subdued Paris Air Show this year, especially after a major Boeing deal was struck during former U.S. President Donald Trump’s visit to the Middle East last month.
Meanwhile, Brazil’s Embraer announced a deal with SkyWest Airlines for 60 E175 regional jets, along with an agreement for 50 additional purchase options.
